Ben pumps up my kite - everything else is gravy.

silly spam filter wont let me post my blog so now ave to do it all ghetto and in peices:

A while back Ben managed to slice his foot open at PB. Fortunately for him and his foot, I was there to save him from what clearly would result in a full leg amputation. He was so grateful that he promised to pump my kite up at some future time... Which was today! (NB: 12 meter. Not one-pump Smile)

Two things should be mentioned at this point:

1. Ben is paid up for his medical care.

2. Feel free to go all Tanya Harding on him if you see him since it would be kinda awesome to never have to pump up a kite again. You should probably make sure I'm around to heal him first though.

So anyhow - today marked my very first trip to Revere. The forecast wasn't really looking all that hot but I needed a break from my brain.  Also in exactly one month  I will  have surgery and will be out of commission for six weeks (UGH.) so I better take advantage of it while I can.

Revere is very cute. Lots of beach, very boardwalkish. Can I mention this? Will there be an uprising with people coming after me with pitchfolks because I'm giving away valuable details? If it would help I could draw a map which we know will be completely useless as a navigational tool...

Snark aside - Revere is cute and big. Lots of space for everyone. I can imagine it being a lot of fun when the wind is up.

When I got to the beach I was greeted by a bunch of fabulous Masskiters including Ben, Benny B, Cristoph, Andrew, Ilyia and I know I'm missing some folks - forgive me, I'm two sheets to wind at the moment - not even gonna lie. It's amazing I'm typing in full sentences at this point... I also met some nice new people whose names I didn't quite get this round...

I have to say - no matter how crappy a day might be going, Masskiters will always make you feel better - <3 - you guys rule even though you scared the wind away...

Yes, that's the sad bottom line, minimal wind. I tried putting up my 12m (air courtesy of Ben) but got absolutely no where with it and I had no desire to sink my lines in the seaweed minefield so I called it a day. I shot the breeze a little before I left and tried to see what kind of nonsense I could stir up:

This next picture needs some explaining - is not what it looks like. It is supposed to be Andrew doing a handstand but for some reason my phone cam delayed a bit and I end up with a great butt-shot. You could argue it's almost a downward dog... I was discussing a yoga teacher I had at on point who liked to wear shorts that showed off his little peaches so who knows - maybe Andrew was inspired..

When you look this fierce who needs wind? (Srsly the guy in the middle wins FOREVER. Move over Tyra.)

I never got this guy's name but he was a good enough sport to amuse me by pretending to be a ballerina and jump over a kite - so thanks unknown wind dancer!

The day wasn't a complete wash for everyone - BennyB managed to introduce a new person to the awesome joyfulness that is kiting Smile

(I get the feeling i keep getting this spam trigger thing because there are too many pictures and not enough words... So let's try this:

Grocery List:

OJ, tofu, tomatos, avocado, hummus, grapes, soy milk, peanut butter, dishwashing soap, papers towels, hot sauce

To Do:

Email Vicki about MCMS meeting, Call Lauren about Thursday, Email Dr. Ralph about session days, Check in at Harvard Boat house, Finish Neuroscience reading, Finish Archeology reading, Finish Evolutionary Bio notes, Go to tailor for spotted dress and striped blue dress.)

So the day didn't actually see me fine-tuning my sick backroll skills but it was another opportunity for me to meet some more fine folks and check out another kitespot. It also gave me another excuse to write - something I have been sorely neglecting.

Catch you all next time. <3<3

Great blog!

Really enjoyed your take on things. Always nice to hear a new perspective, esp since if you have been doing this sport awhile you can get to be an old grumpy curmudgeon if there is no wind.LOL

And of course, I always cheer up if the camera comes out and I can give Tyra a run for her money Wink

Hi there! Sorry I missed you too - we will have to time it better next time Smile

Wasn't me in the water with Ben though - I was on the blue north evo that was in the air all of about 19 seconds before I just said "hell no" and put it down.. I do think there was another girl there though - you might be thinking of her

Madeline, I can't believe you

Madeline, I can't believe you missed my hand stand, it was flawless. Good seeing everyone, even if my session was short lived.
