Need some info on lines
I need to replace a line on a Hydra 300, its 82' long but I don't know the strength. I am running into a lot of places that describe lines as "100#x82'", "150#x82'" and so on. Can anyone shed some light on how the strengths of lines are measured?

Hi Michael,
I am no line expert, but I believe line strength is measured in pound-test
(the pounds of weight required to break the line. Thus 150#x82' is 150
lbs. test line, and is probably no strong enough.
Also, the kind of line matters, because of thickness and stretch.
It looks like the Hydra 300 uses 385#x82' dyneema line.
You can buy a set of them here:

Or you could get a spool of dyneema #385 cheaper, and make the ends yourself,
remembering that putting knots in the line can dramatically reduce its strength.
Curious how you broke a trainer kite line. Is there a good story there?
