How do these compare to Jimmy Leiws Flight Deck 147?

IMO I thought the Flight Deck was soso, nothing like the Door, it was shorter and threw mega spray in your face. I would think looking at the sidecut of the Wing's they are going to be very similar to the Door's and thats a good thing.

Thank you John. I will keep that in mind. Unfortunately I already bought the JL FD at the end of last year but have not have the chance to try it out yet. However, I don't weight that much...so hopefully it will work out for me...if not, I will think about trading it up to the door.

Thanks,

TN

bump

if I didn't just pick up a 151 today I'd be all over that Lightwave Wing - I don't know why I tried learning on an FLX 132 - not easy!

TN - Will you let me try your JL FD? - 45cm width seems huge for a 147 but I assume that cut might be easier to spin then my 151x40.... btw - how's your 5m kite look? Probably better then we do

no problem TN, just make sure you have 2" fins under your heal side, toe side you can get away with smaller ones. the jl fd i tried out had 1" fins all around and it was to loose, not bad but in light wind the gainer is being able to go /maintain upwind, not slide sideways. hey a planks a plank in light stuff, some are just better refined but the main thing is surface area and the jl fd has that.

cheers,
John-

Hi Christian,

Yeah definitely, you can try my JL FD. I will bring most of my gears down w/ me to Hatteras. I have like 4-5 boards and 4 Cabrinha Convert & Omega kites quiver.

But if you are going out to kite b4 then...let me know and we can hook up. I am in Quincy. Most likely, I will not dip into the water until after March...so long as there is still snow...I am snowboarding Laughing out loud

Haven't got a chance to even open up the kite yet. But I sure it is fine.

Re: big boy light wind board

Here's a light wind board listing for anyone still interested in this forum thread.
......
I bought LF WLF board with the new deluxe straps this fall at REAL in Hatteras.
I'm looking to sell the board though I really like it. I'm going to buy a 6 ft surf board with straps to use in the lighter winds this summer to try something different.

09 Board is $499 w/o straps and $669 with straps
08 board is $399 with straps and $559 with deluxe lace straps which I have on on my board.

See link to REAL shop to verify prices and get specs on board. excellent board!

http://www.realkiteboarding.com/index.c

... uctID=9551

I have the white color with red/black graphics.

Board has been used less than a dozen times. In Excellent Condition.

Will let it go for $450 b.o.
