All right all right,
sorry guys, it really took us a while to get everything in place, but we have finally the houses reserved for our Hatteras trip next year. YES we are talking TWO houses for the 2010 trip!!!!
Most of you have probably seen some impressions of our trip last year:
The core idea is to have mixed group of kiters. Beginners and advanced all chipping in for an awesome trip to the outer banks.
Spouses and non kiters are most definitely invited as well!
Last year, we had banners, t-shirts and parties in our house...
for 2010 we plan all the above, but we will have direct water access so we can launch right in front of the house. The yellow house has a launch right in front of it. For those of you that joined us last year.. its the house a bit downwind from our launch from last time. The blue house has water aceess as well, but ts a long boardwalk, therefore most likely we will simply keep all teh gear at teh yellow house and launch from there. We will probably have shirts again, and for sure there will be parties. We might also have the possibility to bring a instructor ourselves, if not then of course there are plenty of opportunities right in Hatteras (real, kitty hawk etc..)
Please let me know if you are interested in getting lessons in (beginner or advanced)

The pricing will be the following For 1 week May1st-May8th:
Yellow:
6 Master bedrooms: $500 each
2 Beds in the bunk bed room: $200 each
Blue:
5 Master bedrooms: $350 each
1 room with 2 beds: $200 per bed
2 Beds in the bunk bed room: $100 each

Basically, who ever gives me the money first gets a room

Extra rooms in hatteras house for April 24th-May 1st
Sounds like your trip is gonna be spectacular.

Come down a week earlier for even more kiting!!
I rented a house with a small group of kiters from RI/CT in Hatteras the week before you guys, April 24th-May 1st. We have some extra rooms if anyone wants to get in a week of kiting before your trip or can't make your week. 2 weeks of kiting >1 week of kiting...
Our group is 4 people so far and we are int/adv. kiters.
Cost ~$175 for the week per person. The house is a 6 bedroom with a pool, hot tub and pool table. It is across the street from the sound side and an easy walk to the ocean side.

Hey,
Yeah I agree that this a lot more expensive that I thought it would be to rent a van.
I think we need to have some 'gathering' soon so that we can plan this. We need to get an accurate number of people who are looking for a ride/willing to rent.
I'd also much rather take an RV or so, but I thing Jeremy mentioned that this it out of the question if I understand correctly?

Just curious, why did you decide to fly in Saturday night and fly out the following saturday afternoon as opposed to flying in Friday night and flying out the following Sunday? You can get two more days if you do the latter. Thanks.

I think the best way to get this together is for a pre trip party and get together. We can work out the car situation etc. A lot of us will be at wachusett so we can discuss then too.

15 Person Van
Hey,
I just got a quote for a 15 person van. It would end up being maybe <$150 pp with fuel. I just found out that they do not have a trailer hitch. So either we jam all the gear and food in there, or just take less people per van.
Or 2nd option would be to rent one large uhaul to carry everything....
We need to complete the list to see how many people are looking for a ride before we decide.

Last time I went to Hatteras
Last time I went to Hatteras (October 09) I rented a Grand Caravan and it was only $250ish with unlimited milage from Dollar I beleive, after flying in to Newport News. Flying didn't save any time, and its a hassle becuase you really cant bring a light wind board, or the back packs for your kites without running up luggage fees equal to the cost of the ticket in the first place. You could get 6 of them for what that 15 passenger runs.
