MASSkiting Twits

 Blog Count 3

Well I'm sitting at my wife's family house down in CT trying to get her motivated to get packed up so we can be back in Boston before the evil holiday weekend traffic starts. I knw how you all like to bang out early on holiday Fridays. I am holding out hope for a session this weekend becuase the NWS still has a small craft forcasted for NE winds on Saturday. I have limited computer access here, so it got me thinking about MASSkiting on Twiter.

Let's get this rolling and get as many MASSkiters as we can setup on Twiter so we can get beach and wind info broadcasted to those that might not have internet access. We talked about this at our mountain party, but not everyone was there to hear about it. JD is working on creating a way for Twitter to work with the website, but I thin even in the meantime we should have one or two or three MASSkiters that have access to the MASSkiting Twiter account and will be responsilble for making braodcasts. The questtion is, what's considered appropiate information for a boradcast?

My vote would be that we braodcast information on three topics : wind forcast (perhaps a daily forecast and/or synopsis), beach locations for group of MASSkiters (where the group(Drunk are planning to go, time line,  and/or any last minute changes), and current at-the-beach wind readings (not just from iLieSurf, actually standing by the water).

I'd be happy to help get is started if JD needs some help as I think it would be a great tool for those people without internet on their phones to stay updated about what the current information is whether it's cranking at one beach or if the group decided to change beaches mid-drive.

What do you all think?

SK out.

I was thinking the same thing

I set up a twitter account

My user name is 25knots
I am still a little unsure how we all link together to make this seamless. I thing we need to follow each other. I am going to use steb1 solely for beach conditions.

I think twiier is best for communicating actual sand in the toes reporting to a group.
