need some advice
Need a little advice on what size kite to use for snow kiting. Can anyone give me a general idea of kite size vs wind speeds? I will most likely start out on flat areas (uxbridge, lakes etc). Thanks.
Everyone always says smaller than your water kites, because it doesn't have to pull you upas much to get going. It depends on the conditions too. are you thinking about getting a foil or using an inflatable?
Waroos are great kites for the snow!
Kite size really depends on your ability on the snow. If you know what you're doing and looking to cruise around powered up you probably want to use a kite about 2m less than what you would on water.
If you're new to the sport you probably want 4m less than what you'd use on the water.
Of course there are other factors that come into play too - if you want to cruise up hill, how much powder there is (more powder needs more power) etc...

Try this again, I keep getting kicked off......... I was thinking of using my regular kiteboarding kites (Best Waroos). Having never snow kited I am not sure what to expect as far as wind ranges and kite sizes.
* what are the typical thresholds in wind speeds min/max that ave people go out in
* Is there any general rule of thumb on kite size compared to what you would use on the water (1-2 sizes smaller for a given wind speed etc)
Thanks.
