The Playground
Christian was driving the kite caravan (a blue Element stock full of kite goodies) and picked up Jermy and I for a day session. With warm air temps, a 6ft @ 6 second swell, and the wind out of the NE, we quickly hit the road for the "playground" at Winthrop's half-moon bay. After a quick stop at D&D, we rolled by the Five Sisters but the tide was too low to launch there. We found our way over to the half-moon bay and were greeted with side-on wind, a jetty blocking wind chop, and the rollers just rollin' through the bay. Jermy and I hit the water first on 12m's on the Mako Wide twins. jermy made for the point break and I played on the inside in the flat water and the rolling swells. Christian launched shortly after and took his 13m Ozone for a ride. Christian worked on his board and transition skills, Jermy rode the breakers at the point, and I carved the hardest downloops I could muster. The wind died a bit and we all played in the shore break for a while till we were hungry and exhausted and packed it up around 2PM with soem Stone IPA's to greet us. Headed over to RF Sulllivan's for burgers and a beer. Next stop: Nahant for some landboarding. Photos: http://www.masskite.com/MASSKiting%20Photos/SK%20Kite%20Photo%20Albums/W... Jermy tears up the shorebreak:
SK out.
