Pleasure Bay Friday? looks warm and windy 2/27
Hi Im new to the area and i was wondering if anyone is going out on friday? I want to ride my 7. The problem is since i just moved here i dont have a wet suit or dry suit so im looking to buy, or borrow. Let me know if you can help. Awesome!
Mesa
just came back from the west coast. All my shit is still on the way, but should be here mid week. If it makes it then I will be more then happy to join on friday and will also have a wet suite to borrow.... awesome exited
Friday looks great!! Forecast even says almost 50 degrees! Cross your fingers!!
I have Fridays off, so I'll be down. I only have my 11m, so hopefully it doesn't get much stronger.
Mesa:
Where do you live? Do you have a car?
And there are a few places in town you can get a wetsuit... including the wilderness house on Comm Ave. Unfortunately I don't have an extra one.
Maybe Duxbury?
i have to work at least until 4, but could be at 4:30 on the water in eitehr duxbury or pleasure bay
duxbury looks better at the moment
@Chris
4? Crap, a little too late for me. Some co-workers want to take me out for drinks around 5.
@ Mesa
I could rent a Zipcar if you were interested in splitting it with me.
but forecast looks better later too!
Jeremy- this might be the third friday in a row that we try this mess. offer still stands- will be on rt 9 in framingham at 10am. can pick you/ mesa? up and travel. pbay or dux- does not bother me. if you guys go the zipcar route, though, i'll just meet ya down there.

3rd time's a charm!
Seriously... that was freakin cold last week, and I had some unexpected visitors. I'm 100% down this week. I wonder how bad the rain will be?
i've got the time to hang out until the rain stops... i'm sure there's a session to be salvaged
oh, I don't mind the rain if it'll be close to 50 out.
I just got back from Baja and am dying to get out on the water again.
Why not just hit Revere Beach, more local and great on a South, right?
Being from Maine for a few more weeks, Revere of Pbay in Southie would be great for me, Dux is a pretty long ride.
Int to see how things shape up.
Look fwd to getting on the water back in New England!
-Greg
I could get out of work at around 11am. If you guys go out earlier, I could meet you at PB (only a 20min bus ride for me). However, Dux won't work for me if you guys leave early.
What time are you planning to go out?
@ Jeremy: If you want to get a zipcar at around 11am to go to Dux, I'm in.
Julian
@ Julian
I have to be back by like 4:30ish... but I'm in if you don't mind only being there for a few hours.
where to?
Can anyone else get ikitesurf to load?
I'd say PBay, Dux, or Revere.
I am in for today wherever. I will check PB around 10.
Chris, I have gear you can borrow if you need it.
At 9AM, Logan is reading South at 14.
Plymouth is reading South at 9.
With the relative light wind, I would think Dux would be the best bet for getting a session in. And it's gorgeous out!
SK do you have a car? or should I rent one?
I have a car.
Then this will be fun. Can't wait to try a mako.
carpoolin? leavin 1030ish for dux i think. 781-956-1227
anyone doing pbay later?
still undesided, but if pleasur ebay works, then I will be there latest 5.
I think thats easier for me to get too after work then dux
But sound slike everyone is on 7s at dux at the moment
Chad called from PB, tried to kite but it was too gusty I guess.
Dux was rocking today. Lit 10m then a super lit 8m and 7m as the wind picked up.
Photos will be up soon.
Hey Mesa,
Glad to see you on the forum. Hope all is well for you in your new digs. Sorry I missed all the fun today. Sounds like at least a few of you hit it right. Talked to Travis around 3:30 and he was heading to PLY. It looked good, but I have been away all week so could not join the fun. Maybe next time.
A few quick, scaled down photos:

HAHA awesome!
It was pretty freakin gusty out!! I love the 8m. I think It's gonna be my next sized kite.
Chris & Mesa did a evening/night session at PBay and said it rocked.
I was running really late from work, so Mesa and I showed up at PB way after the sun was down. We decided it would be a really stupid idea to rig in the dark....
After looking at the wind for 5minutes... fuck it lets rig
It was gusty like shit and we were both overpowered on our 7s. It was so much fun though. I was surprised, i could see my kite quite well in the dark...
Awesome meeting you Mesa. You officially have bigger balls then JohnnyD
Anyhow pictures speak more then words:
Those picks all rule!!! I so want to get out on water again!! I love spring!
Nice to see you were able to get a few night shots...
Aww I miss the flat water.
I had a blast in the waves at Dux though.
A few of us went out at WB Fri afternoon, sunny and high 50's. The water was less than 50's. Was totally lit on a 10m, others somewhat lighter than me on 7m. Pictures from Dux were nice. Must bring out my camera next time. Mostly like the new 2009 nemi hp, its got twister tech which results in the kite being more responsive to steering even when the kite is depowered, definitely steers better in this regard compared to the 2008 model. Am somewhat annoyed by the extreme backstall in those kites however, I don't ride unhooked much on purpose, but find riding waves in cross-shore winds results in lots of backstalling as you try to ride down the line of the wave (downwind). The 2009 nemi hp gets higher air than anything I have ever flown.
Hope to see you guys on Cape soon.
The Dux looked sweet, PBay totally insane. Props to the photojournalists.
I have a couple of questions about Deluxebury. Did you drive a fair distance down the sand road after taking a right once past the bridge? I like that spot, but I suppose it is out of range in my VW Golf...? I've gotten stuck in soft sand North of the bridge before.
And how do you get those sequential photos of that backroll?
@ jean.
It's about a mile down, but it's better that Waquoit. Yer golf could swing it. But the locals tell me they start checkng passes in March.
The sequential photo is just a photomerge of sequential frames. You need a camera that can shoot rapid sequential photos and then a program like photoshop to merge and arrange them.
I think the quality of the Dux and PBay session photos warrant an article for our archive.
@Dunoyer: Agreed!
nice shots!
no gloves?
I forgot mine on my frist session. I did about 30-45mins worth without gloves. Wasn't too bad actually.
Mesa did not even have booties!
here the page from the guy that showed up and took the pictures. Seemed to be a nice fellow.
You guys are nuts! (in a good way)
I stopped by there at around 5, 530 pm. I met Adam and a few other kiters. No one went out as it was gusting and blowing 25 knots.
Mad props on the night session!!!
