Dominican Republic in March 2010

I am in the thick of planning our family vacation for next spring. I have kids in school and if you don't plan way ahead you will get your eyes gouged out doing any kind of trip during school vacation. So here is the issue. We are thinking of DR, but going to Punta Cana (I know, I could be so close to the best spot on the planet). Is there any decent riding to be had there. I am still an aspiring beginner. I will probably be solidly mediocre by next March.
Any reports on Punta Cana, can you do any kiting there at all? Is it worth bringing the gear?

Plus, it's not even windy down there in Cabarete even in March.
Sounds like you're going to have a sit down with the wifey to readjust your plans for a more kite friendly vacation!LOL
