iKiteSurf says Friday is gonna be pretty weak at the moment. Low to maybe mid teens out on the cape, but that's it. And I'm in Boston, and not too keen on dealing with the bridge traffic on Friday. It's gonna be insane.
Saturday looks better.. I was thinking south shore of RI (Ninigret & Charlestown beach) myself.

I noticed the same thing, the cape looking pretty weak on Friday. NOAA and windguru showed decent SW wind forecasts. enough to maintain hope but too far out to get excited.
I'm not sure about going down Friday or Saturday either. May just hit up a party on the 3rd in Marshfield. The freakin forecast has changed so much this week it's getting frustrating.
Why do I look at the wind 7 days in advance and think it will stay that way???
@ shane
will you be in Truro?
I am ready to bolt to where ever there is wind, please, God!
Sunday morning, I will be heading to Cape Cod until Monday or Tuesday, staying in Woods Hole, but looking for my masskiting friends to ride and drink with.
Jean
after today im off work until monday....unfortunately its not looking like any good wind until saturday.....might be a good day for waquoit if forecast holds. but if anything changes im down to kite anyday thursday thru sunday. couple more good sessions and i think ill be upwind worthy
I have Friday off and am ready to kite ASAP! I will be trying to stay on Cape for the drinking portion off the weekend but can travel for sessions.
Shane, I will also be helping launch a boat - a 53-foot Swede sloop.
Jean
I am taking Thursday and Friday off too. I would like to ride Thursday if there is any wind, which looks possible.
tomorrow afternoon is looking doable now at the cape. im down to go hang at the beach drink some beers and hopefully do some kiting! where's the best places to go on a SE?
Hardings is nice in a SouthEast, but only if you can stay upwind.
Johnny,
Any room down the Cape for an old friend.. My knee is finally starting to bend... I wanna kite again.... Let me know
Hey Trevor its the great to see you checking in. Maybe you should make an announcement too seeing how Travis has just been engaged! I would love to have you! You of all people dont need to ask. (Trev was my college roommate and has let my fiance and I crass at his house in Maine too many times even to ski when he was not coming!)
Thats a good friend!
I think SE at West Dennis would be best.
Sunday's the only day I can go. Looks promising, but things can go downhill fast, so it'll be a gametime decision.
Independence Day and Sunday are showing the most potential for the extended period with modest westerlies
On track this AM: The stalled low that's been hampering the Great Lakes slowly passes by tomorrow, suppressing winds for the day. It is expected to track NE by Saturday, with it spinning a weak cold front pass the region with moderate westerly winds that should fill in before its passage. Sunday has post frontal conditions behind a weak shortwave with a modest westerly flow.
The low's shortwaves expected Saturday and Sunday are critical to the timing and strengths of each day's winds, check back daily as the conditions may change significantly going into Sunday.
Friday:
Weak westerlies, with the low parked overhead. The light W - WSW winds wont push past 10 knots for all sites, except with the Cape and Nantucket seeing some wet low teen SW winds mix in for the AM.
Saturday:
Moderate westerly winds as the skies slowly clear. CT to the Cape will see a WSW flow that bumps slightly in the afternoon to weak mid teens. The Cape may push a bit higher into upper teens with decent afternoon sunshine.
Mass sites will see a more WNW flow that will fill in to low to mid teens in the morning.
Winds could be more NW for all sites if the low wobbles a bit more south.
Sunday:
Post frontal westerly winds for the Cape that will push upper teens with some low 20s possible. CT and RI will bend some mid teen WSW winds late in the day that may couple with a sea breeze. Mass will remain lighter with WNW winds that may also be a bit higher depending on the tack of the exiting low.
now the wind looks like shit for today! wtf?!?!
We have had a lot of uncertainty in the forecast lately. Unfortunately, it seems like most of it has resolved with less realized wind than expected. Its worth reading the forecast discussion. It gives you a sense of how much confidence to have in the weekend forecast. From reading today's discussion, most unfortunately, there is a lot of uncertainty around what the model's predict. Lets hope it breaks in favor of clearing skies and the development of more SW wind than forecast.

I feel so dark inside....
Maybe the wind comes up. I am in Dennisport waiting for wind.
It's coming now!
Shane,
I will be in Wellfleet tomorrow to next Sat. so text me if you go and I'll try to make it.

Where is everyone riding tomorrow? WestDennis?
Hardings!
SW winds picked up at noon on Fri at OOB and rode for 4.5hrs. there were about 10 kites down at pine point. Any luck on the cape?
What is OOB?
Old Orchard Beach ME, 20 mins south of Portland
Anyone know of spots within close proximity of Boston that are good on a WSW?
Does anyone want to meet around Boston for a session this pm?

I'll be down in Truro. Heading down early morning Friday and coming back Monday or Tuesday. Need to help folks get boat in water.
