Old Orchard Beach, Pine Point, Maine
I think Margie and I are headed North this quickly disappearing morning. The wind forecast looks fantastic for Maine. I have been up there once before just to get a look at the beach, but that is it. We were at the Pine Point end, last public parking lot before the cut just north of there.
Where is the best place to rig up and launch? Is there an area that a dog on a leash can join in as well? Is access better across the cut from the other side?
Afterward we might head up to Fore Street in Portland for dinner
Thanks,
Jay

there were 4 of us riding today for 5and a half hrs WOW!!! The wind was SW in the high teens low 20's I was on my 17m way over powered and loving it. I had some of the biggest jumps of my kiting career, even got two "dead man hanging" pics to follow.
Sweet! Revere was on fire!
What's the report on Pine Point? Did you get to Fore Street? The wood fired calamari is off the charts!
They're militant about dogs on beaches in Maine during the "season" You can only take your dog on the beach at Pine Point like before 7 am and after 5. Willard Beach in South Portland is also a good bet for dogs (not kiting) before 9 am and after 5 too. (Best bakery in New England right don the street from Willard called "Scratch)
Have had some awesome buggy runs from PinePoint to OOB and back during the off season at low tide.

The day became Margie and I celebrating our fourth year together. Which was actually the Third of July but overshadowed by here sisters wedding we just attended in San Fran. So I toughened up a little and put the kites to the side and we shot up to Portland for the day.
Lunch with the dog at the Portland Lobster Company on the back deck listening to live music. Afterward we explored Cape Elizabeth and returned to town to have another fantastic dinner at "Fore Street". A simply amazing and well done restaurant. Our clothes still smell like burning wood.
Funny you mentioned the wood fired calamari as we order that as well. Another Favorite of ours is the pork loin, really a Fred Flintstone like pork chop that will knock your socks off. Everything was perfect as usual.
The big bonus was finding the back deck at the lobster company that allows you to bring your dog along. He (Moose) is an intricate part of our family. We also swung by the Standard Baking Company to stock up on some great bread. (We will try Scratch next trip)Portland rocks, quite frankly my favorite place to go in New England, shame the kiting seems to be non-existant there.
