Revere Beach Saturday 6/6
It was a day of waiting and chatting in the light easterlies when Greg Maer the afternoon delight informed us of a late afternoon session as the wind was to kick up. It was east all day hovering around 12-13mph as he hung around the beach but as the sun began to set the wind kicked up to the upper teens with gusts to 20knts. Johnny Hujol was there but left before the wind kicked up. Johnny thanks for being the sacrificial kiter. I was out for 3 straight hours overpowered on my 17 riding about a mile offshore as everyone stayed close to shore. The tide was incoming and kicked up some nice rollers over the sand bars. I rode pretty much the entire lenght of Revere Beach throwing down some nice long floaty jumps (not bad for a fat guy) but hitting the waves was a lot of fun. Few other people showed up. Pretty much rode until the moon had risen and the wind switched around to the south. I was the last one off the water as I was taking advantage of this afternoon delight indeed. Looking forward to another day like it again.
Skipper,
Yes, a most excellent session. I was loving those long ass runs.
I waited over a year for my Revere session and finally nailed it.
Totally sweet.
I was properly warmed up from my solo session at Chapin at 6:30-8:30...
that was a 'morning dew' for sure!
Loved the long breaking waves of Revere. So psyched I had the surboard out.
Starting to feel really comfortable jumping that beast too. Scored one surfboard backroll at Chapin! Will have to work on those more.
Fun seeing so many people on the water:
Joe G, Nick, Alan, Pete 'Cliffy' Clifford, Skipper etc...
Onshore allowed for the longest runs of my career next to the downwinders in Hatteras.
Revere rocks the house, met some funny 'good fella' type locals that were like
whaddufuck is that u wa doin' dude?! Looks like fun, ba-da-bing-ba-da-bang!LOL
