Looking for somewhere with consistent wind and not too many people where I can go with my wife, who rides both directions but is still working on staying upwind. Considered Cabarete (too crowded for a beginner?) Maui (expensive and maybe too advanced?) La Parguera (looks interesting but not too much info about access?)Anyone been to the Kitehouse facility in Manta, Ecuador?

check out kite hostel la

check out kite hostel la parguera on facebook to ask about access -apparently it's just small boats out a few minutes to the sandbars and mangrove islands - you gotta ask where the reefs are though and stay off them.

Decided to go to Ecuador

Decided to go to Ecuador August 1-10 for best shot at consistent winds. Now I just need to figure out whether my donkey will fit in my golf bag.

a buddy and I went down to

a buddy and I went down to manta same time last year (right when they were taking the donkey pic). the winds and beach should be perfect for your wife, and there will be tons of whales breaching around that time which is sort of wild. You'll have a great time. You definitely should stay at the guesthouse in Manta rather than a hotel.
