Been a while.

I hate this time of the year.

I'm so swamped with work and other obligations that I find it hard to find time kite. And all around me there are people that are getting great sessions in, and I get so jealous. I think I went over 2 weeks not getting out. For a week or so, I stopped checking the forum every day like I usually do cause I don't want to hear about what I'm missing. Luckily, I scored a great session on Friday with Greg and Jay and a handful of RI peeps that renewed my confidence.

My July 4th weekend Megablog

It's been too long since I've blogged. Partly because my life has been a little crazy in the past month with some serious changes, and partly because in that time, I have not been out riding much. Then there is the gear. My old Ozone and my 09 Sport took forever to get back from being repaired. I ordered an new custom Ozone Edge+ kite, but there were problems with the files I sent them and it pushed the production back a few weeks. The new kite will look sick. All black, with a big "Triple Eight Vodka" and "Product of Nantucket" next to 3 big eight balls.

No wind on Saturdays.

I write this on my trusty iPhone as I take the bus down to the cape. I wish the forecast didn't change. I was excited about riding all week with the way the wind looked. For all of you who didn't hear, I got a good sized tear in my brand new kite while riding at Winthrop the other day. Sucks, but it happens. Now I can send 2 kites off to Florida to get them fixed at the same time. And as if I needed another reason to get a new kite Tongue

Post-Hatteras

My body feels like it is suffering from a combination of a Hatteras-Hangover and Hatteras-Withdrawal.

Hatteras after 2 days

What can I say about being here for 2 solid days?

OUCH.

But that's because chris brought 4 bottles of saké and we hit that up last night in true MASSkiting fashion by doing saké bomb after saké bomb. Nothing gets a splitting headache going better than dehydration, sunburn, and saké bombs. Woof. And ouch. I'm typing this on my phone and the screen freakin hurts to stare at.

I'll try to sum the last 2 days.

On the road.

Our trip started out on a funny note when Chris showed up at Phils house first, and when we got there we got out the cameras and smacked a few high-5s, only to be told by the owners that we were definately at the wrong house. Right, Phil lives down the street. I guess we were a little anxious Tongue
