HATTERAS ANXIETY!!!!

OMG I am so ready to hit the road!! I cant say enough about last years trip. I still feel like im there and to have so many people there to share it. It is interesting as usually you don't see almost everyone. The best part is that after the sessions people stick around chip in and get a chance to communicate That you never get as we all have life waiting and get so regimented. So this kind of trip is entirely a grand slam. When the posting starts and the pictures and video role I want nothing other then to be there and not miss anything! Cause you'll remember it all year till next!

Snow Season is Here

So yesterday I got out with Jean and Adam from Boston Kite School at Franklin Park. As a kiteboarder I totally get the water is better and you know what, I wont argue. My riding has gotten allot more progressive and I don't dare ride that way on land yet. But to me I have just decided that wave ridding is the only real way to enjoy New England kiting in the winter. Also my trip to Maui I was deeply influenced by Lou Wainman to ride strapless surfboards.

New England and wind depression

So we have "sea breezes" but not when it rains

So here I am at work usually excited to head out and down to the cape. But this weekend does not promise wind and to make it worse it looks like rain. I now have to realize that I have another work week before I can be at ease with my addiction.

People recommend I do choirs and get some work done.. "Yeah go to hell!"

I have a brand new surfboard and Boss 12m to rock and no wind...

Why?

Memorial Day brings in the Season!

So the season is officially on here in New England waters! Last year at this time a group of MASSkiters got together and decided that there was something that made us special in regard to the kiteboarding scene. Prior it seemed that it was hard to know when people were going kiting and for that we had less opportunities to kite with support. We did not have a centralized place to chronicle our epic kite adventures either. But we decided that if we pulled togther as a team we could then start to provide better resources to a new community.

Still chillin hatteras!

So the party rolls on. The second session here day two was out of control the wind was over 20+ we rode and we rode the sun was out and it was 79 degrees. Its beautiful here and the house is such a playground. Time is slipping away a bit as people are going every which way! I mean you turn around and you can't control it people are going to the beach, mile marker 46, mile marker 48, real slick, or kitty hawk. Yeah and that is not even a list its the order here in Hatteras. You can leave AVon which is where we are staying and can just go! You tell a buddy your destination or thumb a ride.

1st Day and the house

Ok so 1st day we show up and go right to the beach with no sleep to kite. Second wind kicks in and we are off without food or water with perfect session. We were bombing around and Kristof showed up and we were doing a big upwinder to a spot a half mile away. After a few beers and meeting up with Greg we headed back down wind to base camp. What a session! We grabbed a quick bit and got in to the house later on that afternoon. The house is sick. The main room is up on the 3rd floor with water visible in all directions. When the wind blows you see all the kites in the distance.

On our way finally

So I met Jermy getting off the train by his house. He was carrying a box full of T- shirts specially made for the trip. We had a beer an went to met phil, biggi, henry, victor, chris, and mesa at phil's. We piled so much gear in this truck!! Then we were off knowing another car lode was soon to follow. Our destination hatteras!! Piled high with 10 kites and 7 boards! But we are only on CT and we have 12 hours to go omg I hope I can just sleep.. Club quad cab is in full swing with kite talk!

Almost Time to get rolling! Headed to Hatt!

Ok so its getting close now to the time we can finally hit the road. Jermy and Chris hooked up T-shirts, flags, and a banner for the house. MASSkiting has really outdone itself to get so many good friends all the way to NC and at the same time!

We are going to have a great base camp with many cameras and video being shot on that beach! I assume that many other visitors will be popping in to see those pics as we generally do a good job covering our travels and new friends along the way.

Current state of things

I have been working my ass off at work Then I have been working on the site or getting in sessions on the weekend. Had a nice Easter weekend that I really enjoyed at Gorette's familys in NJ. I am looking forward to the weekend and need to swing through my place there. I think most of the features are working on the website now. You can come to expect a facebook style linking of all this data you enter on the reports ect. It will all come together. Soon you will see your blogs and pictures friends tagged of you on your profile...
