TD8, Chili Wars, and Cabbage Patch Kids Part II

The next morning I woke up, grabbed a hunk of swordfish from the night before to go feed the fish off the dock.

Looking at the pond and seeing how much the surroundings have changed since the beginning of summer, it was a little sad to see the leaves starting to fall signalling the end of warm days and warning us of the chill that's pending.

TD8, Chili Wars, and Cabbage Patch Kids Part I

So I decided to hitch a ride with JohnnyD and Gorette to TD8.

Plans changed a little bit since John was going to head down Friday night and Gorette and I were going to leave Saturday morning. About 9am Goretta meets me at my apartment and we pile everything in my Jeep and start our trek (after a Starbucks run of course - YUMMY PUMPKIN SPICE!)

We get to JohnnyD's parents' house at about 11ish. There is no JohnnyD though which is odd because he left about 8 hours before us. We later discover that he decided to take a nap on the way down.

A Visit to Yirrell

I was at this really awesome party.

There was booze flowing like a river, a killer band and loads of fabulous people. The band front man stopped playing so that he could make an announcement.

All of a sudden one of the NY Rangers skated in and said something about the President of the United States and how he was outside and wanted to come in.

I started to panic because I didn't make enough cupcakes.

There was also something about hot air balloons and possibly a monkey... ..

And then my alarm went off.

Wind... We need to talk. What'd I Ever Do To You?

So it's crunch time - only two weeks until my surgery so it is pretty important I get some kite time before that happens. Friday at PBay seemed doable AND I didn't even have classes so I was free ALL DAY! Until I was cornered by someone in my program who asked me to show a student around Harvard who wanted to get into the same grad program I am in... At 3pm. When. of course, the wind was predicted to be at its best.

:bitter:

Les Adieux Laurent aka Après le Déluge

Let me preface all this with a disclaimer *there are a few of these in this post*:

DISCLAIMER 1: No one in this post is actually a demon regardless of how utterly insane they might look because I can's seem to deal with red/white/crazy eyes. I should also apologize for not getting pictures of everyone. Also some pictures didnt come out so if you were there and I didnt get to post a pic of you Im sorry. Finally I cant seem to resize these picture so sorry for the ginormous size.

Ben pumps up my kite - everything else is gravy.

silly spam filter wont let me post my blog so now ave to do it all ghetto and in peices:

A while back Ben managed to slice his foot open at PB. Fortunately for him and his foot, I was there to save him from what clearly would result in a full leg amputation. He was so grateful that he promised to pump my kite up at some future time... Which was today! (NB: 12 meter. Not one-pump Smile)

Two things should be mentioned at this point:

PB & J... Hold the Toe Jam Tho Please...

So today I decided to check out Pleasure Bay. The shout box was hopping with news of wind and it got me all pumped up, so much so that I pretty well ran out of class without so much as a goodbye... or checking how to get to the bus which proved to be problematic as I happened ...

....hmm...

I just got this text message: "I just watched the 13th warrior and drank hot chocolate i remembered you."

My First Mass Kiting Experience :D

So I managed to hitch a ride with Northwester who graciously allowed me and four others (Bob, Kylecs, and Philipas) to pile on his boat. (Kyle is taking the picture.. Hi Kyle!)

We shoved off at about 1:30 and got to see a bit of the cat races. NEAT-O!
