Mayflower tends to have more waves and shore break then Chapin. Also tends to be less crowded. There is, or has been all winter, some debri around the high tide mark that is perfect for attaching a leash in order to self launch.
Just like Chapin there is a long walk out at low tide. There is one rock to watch out for about a 3rd of the way to the low tide mark about 100 yards west of the parking lot. You can see if at low tide and once you know where it is you will never have a problem.
There is a food stand right there at the beach only open during the summer.

You CANNOT kite Mayflower Memorial Day to Labor Day - lots of bathers and lifeguards, they leave us to Chapin during those months.
