2011 LF Envy
My current big kite is a 14m (I weigh about 175lbs) and it's time for a replacement. I've liked size 14m as my big kite and the thought of a 15m has me a bit hesitant. Obviously, the smaller the better but I'm not much of a big board/surfboard rider with smaller kites At any rate, any general thoughts about the LF Envy 15m? Fast for a big kite? Top end max at? Other info.? I'm not really looking for a specific "light wind" kite per se but something all-around fun for those below 20ish mph days. Pricing is so right on LFs right now. Thanks.
took it out yesterday for the first time 16 to 22 mph wind, it's a fun little kite but it stalled on me a couple times, which is something I never experienced with my Cabrinah Crossbow, probably just a pilot error though.
I have no experience with the 15 but generally speaking they got good reviews. Mackiteboarding has them on sale now at $999 complete, pretty good deal for a 15 meters. This said, you may be over powered on a 15 in 20ish winds. I pumped the Crossbow 13 in low 20s yesterday evening and that was too much for my 190 lbs and skills level.
What is your 14m? Have you ever flown the LF? I am always hesitant to buy a kite I have never flown. Pretty much all brands have great kites now but so much of it is about personal preference and what you are looking for as a rider. I know the Air Rush Lithium has some pretty awesome low end. my 14 Epic def has a lot of low end. Also heard great things about the cabs but never flown one. Now I have been reading up on these switch kites that I think a few people on the forum have bought. They sound pretty interesting as well but again would want to fly one first
