2.18 Lake Massabesic snowkiting

Winds should settle down this afternoon making for a great session at Massabesic in Manchester NH. Yesterday we had gusts into the 40's and kites ranged in size from 3.5m (mine) to 9m. Top speed on the 3.5m lei was 33mph and surface conditions were great.

So you park off Rte 28 at the
So you park off Rte 28 at the north-west side of the lake? Or is it possible to park somewhere off Shore Rd at the south-east end of the lake ? The latter option would give a 2 mile fetch on a NW wind.

Route 121 where the road comes within 20' of the waters edge. Best in a West wind, good in NW but you have to get out past the wind shadow and ride the middle of the lake. I'll try to post my Google Tracks map.

Kiting has always been a
Kiting has always been a passion for me. I never got a chance doing it in snowy area but. So hope someday I'll do. Anyways the video was good to learn and see.
Nice sunny day on Massabesic...11.22 miles topping out at 28.65 mph on the 3.5m Best Kahoona. Quite a bit of the snow has blown off in areas leaving spotty ice. Gusty NW winds today ranging from lulls to ~30mph. Not nearly as bad as yesterday.
