Any thoughts on this location 41.624169,-70.25259, Just west of West Dennis? It looks like it will work on an East / East South East Direction as well as the summer S SW.

Private.. Its on basically

Private..

Its on basically great island which is a private community that was owned by the Chase's originally. The island has security that patrols all day and are pretty aware of whats going on and don't like people on those beaches. Also no parking or way to really get there so I would say off limits

Such a nice spot! Go swimming over there on the boat 5-10ft of water and sandy bottom.. Super warm and just crystal clear water

Go by boat

While it is sadly true that you legally restrict access to a beach in this state of ours, you cannot however own the beach (below the mean high tide line) so if there is a choice spot i would encourage you to go by boat. Enjoy the spot, leave no trash or trace.

BTW...You cannot access federal preserve by boat, that is actually against federal law.

Some very old laws protect our access to the waterfront.

et quidem naturali juri communia sunt omnium haec; aer, aqua profundus, et mare et per hoc littoa maris.

Note that Massachusetts grants property rights to the upland land owner all the way to the low tide line. Despite these property rights, the owners can't limit our rights to "fishing, fowling and navigation".

A little bit on this from the state:

Very Cool

Good to know that while they "own" down to the low tide they cannot restrict use of that inter-tidal zone.

While i am sure that this is not always the best route, "Its easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission." is my preferred approach to the ocean/beaches and use/access. As long as you are humble about it and don't give any reason for them to get angry then you should be sweet.

The East Coast is very tricky

The East Coast is very tricky with how so much of the coastline is private and inaccessible. Nice for the people who own it, tough for the rest of us who have to jam pack on the few public beaches left. It seems like the opposite set up on the Left Coast.
