Hey, I am a board shaper, and i was wondering what type of board and size you guys think is the easiest to stay upwind and travel upwind with. Your inputs greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Door style boards

In my experience with twin tip board a long thin heel side rail that is slightly convex (to a point on upwind on the hell side) work best. Wider is good too for light wind in that the added area helps you stay on a plane during the lulls. Nice soft tip and tail help if in you see some chop as the ind picks up.

I have found the concave

I have found the concave board shapes such as the Ocean Rodeo Mako give me the most up windability.

This was my 1st board. No joking, my 1st time ridding ever, i did not get pulled down wind much. my seccond time riding i was going up wind. Now i feel like it is an up wind machine. I think it works because it is HUGE. Also the edge of the board is long and strait. You could just trace one out and see how it does. I do not think it is bad in the chop. I am not ridding in the waves yet so I do not know how that would be. It seams to jump fine but it turns slow. in flat water it rides very nice.
