Hey Guys,

What are some good larger boards to consider that have flatter rocker for easy up wind ability, but are still good in the chop (without spraying my face?). Looking for something in the 140 range (+ or -).

Thanks,

Underground Stella

I have an Underground Stella 144cm that is great. It is pretty flat & wide and tracks upwind very easily. Not as good at heading upwind as door style boards but much less spray and tendency to bury the front end. Nice and light too so you can still try a trick or two with it.

Rocker?

Chooch - have they flattened out the rocker on that board? I used to ride a WLF back in 2006 or 2005, the year it first came out. At the time, it had too much rocker for my taste.

Why would you want a flat

Why would you want a flat board???

Rocker addes better performance in chop and softer landings. A flat board sprays you in the face and sucks in chop.

The WLF has great light wind abilities without being a flat plank thats no fun to ride.

Never ridden the 2005 or 2006. But spent some time on a friends 2008 and 2010 boards. Its the only big light wind board I would ever think about owning.

Flat(er) not flat

When I rode 1st Gen WLF, it had almost as much rocker as their wakeboard lineup. Made it impossible to stay up wind unless it was really blowing. That's the same issue I'm having now with my Model 3. Great when it's powered, but frustrating when winds are lighter.

I know everyone is different

I know everyone is different and there are a ton of options but I am hooked on the crazy fly boards. My main board is a 145 44 all around. I am a big guy so for me its my everyday board but I cant say enough great things about it. I am certainly not the most advanced kiter out there however anytime I borrow or demo a different type of board I notice the difference right away.

That being said their are a lot of great boards out there!

Oh didn't realize the old ones had that much rocker. The modern ones have enough rocker to make it fun but still flat enough between the feet to go upwind good on a light day
