I'll be there on Sunday for a race... if it's windy I'll bring my kite stuff!
Pocomo is great place to kite, pretty consistent SW afternoon thermals. The local landowners have been trying to ban kiting there for years. The general rule of thumb is launch at the tip, and then get the hell out of there. DO NOT kite anywhere near moorings around Pocomo. Or beach-goers. Ask a local when you get there.
You can kite in other places on the island, but not around lifeguards, and you shouldn't where it's crowded on the beach. Which could be everywhere in the summer.
