How many Gopro owners?
How many people own and ride with a Gopro on water or land? I have a close friend working on something very cool for the Gopro market - figure I'd check to see how many users there are and see if maybe I can get one of his prototypes once they are out of mfg (hw is being done in China, sw is being done here in NH...)
yes, I have go pro. Use it in the water and have strapped it to my bike handlebars as well.
I have two GoPro's. I use them for kiteboarding and on my kids dirt bike while he is tearing up the sand pits...I'm down for testing a prototype.
Ben just upgraded from a Sanyo HD1 to a Gopro. He uses it for kiting and on land for filming from his remote control airplanes. And underwater, although we still need to get the flat lens housing for that to make sense.
Yes, I have and use one too. I just used mine the other day Landboarding in Hampton beach. And Joe I'm sorry I havn't got back to you yet regarding Plum Island access. I guess most of the island is a bird sanctuary so thats why flying kites are off limits, even if its a stunt kite. You can try in the off season to kite on the front main beach but some of the homeowners there were less than friendly to me in the past.
I like the contours better for kiting and for helmet mount. more streamlined package and much more stable on the strings for kiting
I also use a GoPro while kiteboarding. Helmet mount, center lines mount and kite mount.
Just used in with kite mount on Monday.
I'm definitely up for some prototype testing.
If it's some kind of remote control unit, I'd be psyched to have one.
pm me if you need a proto tester on the North Shore.
Hey, let us know about Sandy Point. I've wondered about launching from there too. I know It's not part of the bird sanctuary so it has different rules. My guess is it would be good in E winds- NE, E, SE. Very strong tidal current through there. Probably safest to not kite there by yourself on outgoing tide.

Thanks for the replies...I've seen the prototype and it's a very cool idea. He just needs to shrink it like 1/4 the current size and he needs to giddyup on this project. He's doing it nights and weekends and I keep pushing him to get it to market faster.
Stay tuned...I'll get at least one to play with and we can share it among the group.
And Jay I have some good news...kiting is not allowed on the reservation But it is allowed at the very end of the island at sandy point reservation and parking is free. I'm going to take a ride out this weekend to check it out. I believe there is a big sandbar on oceanfront side of the beach which keeps the boats away.
It's on the Ipswich end of the island. This could be the northshore oasis I've been looking for provided there is good wind. I already know there are few people because of the limited parking.
