Re: Ice Safety

I bring with me a pull rope and blanket on to the ice an use the ice screw to test thicknes- but we cover huge distances and stray far from our gear- best to have a set of those ice rescue picks and best of all someone watching after you who knows what to do.

Tell yah what the MASSkiting crew friggin jumps if ever an issue. Thats the best part of the group no matter what level you are if you show we have your back. I hope this never happens on my watch but makes yah wonder if a back pack and a rope might save a life.. Also those ice pics.. where can I get them anyone have a link?

Just hope you have a stiff breeze. Send it -> right back up!

That's a great video though - I definitely wouldn't have thought to kick my feet up and slide on the ice in that situation...

Here's a video of what NOT to do while snowkiting - HUGE disclaimer should preface this video -

or better yet just watch this video to realize why this is a bad idea - but it did look cool though!

Shit, I can't wait to ride the melt! Just make sure it's not too deep and you can get out and to warmth easily.
