I have never land kited but I am thinking about buying a board and trying it this summer on days that are too light to kite. I understand that you dont need as big of a kite for given windspeed because there is much less resistance but can I use my regular water kite? Or is a foil kite better?

It would be awesome if I could just buy a board and have all I need (I have a 10.5m obsession now).

ALSO, does anyone have a land board that is in good condtion that they are selling??

Anything else I need to take into consideration?

Thanks for the help!

you can use your bow kite but

you can use your bow kite but its not as safe as a foil kite where u can release any time witout the kite dragging you in the sand,i tried it with my nine meter but it was too much bar pressure with a bow kite .

i have a landboar that i bought new in 2009 only used it twice and since than it been just setting on my closet shot me a pm if you like to ckeck it out

Landboard vs Skates

Well, if you are snowboarder then yes, go with landboard, otherwise you may consider this option http://powerslide.de/en/nordic/skates/xc-trail-nordic-skate.html . And from what I saw this winter foils are better for land and snow, but you can use water kite as well. The biggest issue is how to launch/land on your own and a proper anchor would really make a difference, 20 sm ice screw works fine on ice and if you find some sort of 'dog anchor' ($4 at Target) then you should be fine or dirt or sand as well!
