kitestorm feb 26-27, anyone going?
I will probably be heading up alone if the forecast is good, anybody else going?
Looks like a few of us will be heading up for the event depending on the weather!
Going to the Homeland is always good!
Philip
I'll bee headed up with a group of us from the S NH area. If the surface area holds up like it is now, this could be the best event in years, pending the wind shows up of course.
same for me,
if the weather and wind look promising, I'll head up!
Let's hope for the best
cheers,
Philip
I'm a maybe
OH YEA I'm a definate mabey:)
Where to book lodging, any ideas
cant make it this year.....have to go to jackson hole instead. damn....
I have not yet booked but have gone every year. I guess I forgot the dates but time to get planning. Eyes on the wind.
YES! I'm going that weekend for a mix of either snowboarding if there's no wind or snowkiting if there is.
I'm booked at the Fairfield Inn Mariott with a friend of mine. Rates seem decent (abt $95/room/night and sleeps 4 ppl) when you split costs and looks nice and includes breakfast. It's halfway between the lakes and the mountains.
I'd like to cruise up. If anyone wants to carpool shoot me a message. I would be coming from the cape but i'm just a lone sole with beer and sensi!
im going but not sure if staying for two days, unless conditions are good.. anybody wants to split room cost? hopefully get to meet fellow masskiters up there..
Here's what it says on the kite storm website for accommodations. "We are at the Best Western Windjammer Inn. Call them at: 802-863-1125."
I called, rate is about 75 to 85/night. I'm driving from nyc... If anyone needs a ride, let me know.
I would be in for one day (depending on the weather for sure...), and or splitting a room as well, as long as the costs are reasonable... 80$/night is definitely way to expensive....
If crashing on a couch would be Ok for you, I would have probably a place to stay for us in Bulington...
Who is going?
I plan to go and want to see who else is coming.
still not sure ...
what about the forecast and the snow situation?
If it's realy that much ice, it makes no sense for snowboard-kiting...
may be with ice skates
I am going. I will be driving up early Saturday morning from Watertown, Mass. and looking for a rider. The conditions might be really good. They are getting a foot of fresh today and NOAA is predicting sunny Northwest winds on Saturday.
sounds good
Yo Masskiters,
It's been snowing since 7 am up here. The rain is staying south of us. It's supposed to get heavy with some accompanying high winds this afternoon. Should be great tomorrow and if you can get up here today it should be awesome later this afternoon.
Bring some Masskiting stickers up!
Have stickers, will bring...
Getting there with friends, have plans skiing Smugglers Sat and kiting Sun or other way around depending on snow/wind conditions. You think on Sat it may be kind of stormy conditions with gusts >30mph?
Save your trip to Smuggs for sunday- the wind is currently looking bleek for Sunday.
Saturday, on the other hand, is looking dialed. Get here early to get some fresh
vtkiter, what time should I plan to arrive?
YESYEYYEYEYEYSYSYSYSYYSYSYEEEEES 30++++++++++
My favorite!!!!!!! Screw light wind let it BLOW!!!!! Ill be screaming!!! Jean how are you going? I have my truck no place to stay and my wife is not going... I have had my head down at work and now need to know what to do!
The wind was off the charts this afternoon at Sandbar. Saw some of your beotches up here and they'll tell you it was nuts!
Current forecast for tomorrow is 10-15, Hopefully that will change for the better. They update overnight.
Best to get there early to stake out a place.
