I read earlier that you couldn't kite at the gut because of the piping plovers. Is this still the case?

Plovers

I went there over the 4th weekend and the Cape Cod National Sea shore had posted a sign in the parking lot "no kites beyond this point, including kiteboard kites". the sign was also posted on other National seashore beaches. There was no wind so there was no sign of anyone kiting.

I've kited Cold Storage Beach

I've kited Cold Storage Beach in Truro which is just down from the Gut a few times and had great sessions there. No plover signs and it's a town beach.

there is also a cold storage beach in truro that sits just up cape between corn hill beach (which has a larger parking area) and the gut in welfleet.

anyone have the latest info

anyone have the latest info on Wellfleet access re:plovers? I have the day off tomorrow and would like to kite at this amazing spot. I'm thinking of calling the harbormaster or beach admin to get the scoop. When I call, what do I refer to as the launch at the Gut? The spot right where I walk over the stairs? Is that the town landing??

I wonder if it would be

I wonder if it would be possible to take the ferry from p-town and then somehow take a rental, or bike or something to get down there and kite...
Then you don't have to drive all the way from Boston to Wellfleet.

Good News!! I spoke with

Good News!! I spoke with Suzanne the beach administrator today 8/3. The plovers have fledged and so kiteboarding is now permitted at the Gut.
