On google maps, in chatham area i heard light house beach might be kiteable? If you look at the attachment there is a small pool of water inside the elbow i wonder if thats big enough to kite as well? Seems like there is plenty of beach to setup etc.

Anyone kite here?

Chatham Light Cape Cod Kiteboarding

This spot is kiteable. That is where all the Great White sitings are and where you have seen on the news. This spot has some of the biggest cape swell and some of the best localism on the cape. The pond is full of bad stuff bacteria ect as it gets no flow in or out. Its used to be good but now is not recommended. The rips there are deadly and Kirk himself almost drowned once after getting swept 2 miles down the beach. That day was a huge wake up call.

So your saying... there's a chance!?

So as long as I don't get eaten by a shark or drown there is a chance I can have a good session!?

HI FIVE!

Elvis, this is a spot I would

Elvis, this is a spot I would classify as expert only. There is a ton of current, boat traffic, beach goers, and now Great Whites. Waves can get huge, it's a big step up from West Dennis.

Nasty

I went surfing there last summer and the swell was incredible. The rip current just keeps dragging you further out, and the waves have no forgiveness. So getting back into shore is a struggle in itself.

I was straight molly-whooped last year by the swell.

Agreed

Agree with everyone. Didn't realize about the rip currents. Was joking about going out after johnys post. I will definitely stay away thanks for heads up

Again Kirk is an amazing

Again Kirk is an amazing kiter and he almost drown ...

http://masskiting.com/content/waves-brockdub

Basically he was in the water with a bad kite from the conditions. T brought in his board and came back and he was 2 miles away... gone. No where with kite released it was luck he got back. For an hour we were unclear if we lost a friend. THIS WAS A FUCKED moment! T was sure he would NEVER leave his brother behind for a board ever again...

The moment I remember was 10-13ft wave FACES in 35-45mph. Neto riding one T going for another myself in the calm in between. The wind and white water like a freight train. This was the most demanding day ever and even as a decent kiter at the time I question why I was there. One 7ft whit wall on your kite and you would be pulled under for 50yard + you would wrap in your lines. the kite would be lost if you got out and the rips...

Felt like point break! Anyway I have seen good waves and great clean waves in Maui. Bu these were different! On a normal day you have the rip only. But that day! Just a wake up call. Kirk was humbled and he is crazy Tongue
