Hello all,

Just took a ride to Yirrel(Deer Island) and drove by Winthrop Beach on the way back. The plover nesting area has been roped off at both places.

For those of us that ride at Revere, Yirrel and Winthrop beach we have a good relationship with the woman (Suzanne) who manages these nesting areas for all 3 beaches and she says we do an excellent job in keeping the right distance from the nesting areas. Let's keep it that way because she now works for the DCR (Dept of Conservation & Recreation) and reports to the people who can ban us on all beaches. I haven't had to tell too many people to stay away from the roped off areas of the beaches. This just serves as a friendly reminder to us all.

Yirrel Beach: The roped off plover area is about 100 yards to the left of the stair case that goes over the wall. Please set up your kites about 50 or more yards to the right of the stair case.

Winthrop Beach: Looks like it is all roped off. Best to just keep away from that beach as it isn't that popular a place to ride.

Revere Beach: The plover areas are still in front of the Fiesta House. Please do not go north of the last High Rise condominium. We mostly rig between the Dunkin Donuts to the Bathhouse. You can ride there. Also when the lifeguards are on duty (july) setting up in those areas are prohibited. Just go to the Dunkin donuts area or a little after it heading north up the beach.

Please check out the maps in the beaches section?

Thanks everyone.

Skipper
