PR: Duxbury beach cleanup.
Duxbury residents are looking for help cleaning red seaweed from the beach. Residents are complaining about the smell, and are asking for help from the public.
The reason I post this is, I don't know if I should care...... Cleaning washed up plant life on a beach that I would otherwise not be permited on seems strange. As far as I see it, many birds take advantage of the bounty washed up on the shore. I Wouldn't want to disrupt the natural order of things, less more birds become endangerd like the plover. I know it must stink to high heaven though.
Now they may see the value of being hospitable to kiters and windsurfers....
That stuff is brutal and smells like rotting fish. They're going to need a lot of volunteers or some heavy machinery to clear all of it from the beach.
They don't want to plow over the plover nests
