Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

This is just a quick note to log two very short sessions at kiteclub Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They and their beach are located just to the south of the Club Med in Punta Cana where I stayed. The spot has an area of shin to waist deep water that extends for about 400 yards off shore to a reef for at least a couple of miles in either direction. If the wind is blowing, the spot is optimal.
While there I had two very short sessions (less than an hour) before the wind died on their gear. Was using a big board (139cm) and a 14 meter kite. The wind seems to die off just as the thermal flow that feeds places like Cabarete picks up. So if its blowing and its sunny, go early.
During the winter, its alledged to comparable to Cabarete in winter.
I would not plan a kiting trip to Punta Cana but its good to know there is an option out there if the wind picks up.
