Rolling up your kite
I was originally show to roll my kite one wing tip at a time to center and then fold like and envelope.
Phil at Kitesite showed me more recently a better way.
In heavy winds I find I roll one end and then as I roll the other side the first side unrolls. So instead fold the kite in half so you are holding both tips and roll both tip together to center. Then roll like and envelope.
1. You get half the amount of sand (one side can b!e shaken off)
2. The other side does not unroll
3. Its just faster!
I cannot believe we all kite so much and still simple tips can be learned thanks Phil!
Cool, now I don't have to look like a total idiot with my kite flapping full-length as I struggle to roll up a wingtip. Keep the tips coming!
Theres a video i saw somewhere. Cant find now
1)unlock all struts air valves (onepump)
2)Grab kite in center
3) Open deflate and wait couple seconds until bit soft and fold whole kite in half. Wing tip to wing tip.
4) Wait few seconds
5) Flip wing tips over the first strut and roll along LE bladder
6) Each strut should be able to use hands to help squeeze out air as roll.
7) Roll/fold to center strut and fold from end of wing tips to LE Half and Half
Put harness on ground and wrap around kite, and use leash as a strap like a courier bag.
seems so simple and so obvious but never tried, seems it would be twice as fast. Every day you learn somthing, if not you weren't paying attention:)
