anyone going out cape or ply area
If it's not raining I'm in! Maybe somewhere around Boston might also work. Nahant, Winthrop, Revere...
I cannot wait to get out this weekend! Really cannot wait especially after not going when I had the chance Sat thinking it was not worth the drive... ooops! So I have to make up for that too this weekend
Last Saturday was marginal for those of us who don't have the skills to ride a surfboard yet. This weekend looks solid!
I am keen on trying Plymouth as I have not been there before and the wind looks to be set up well for an East facing beach with flat water.
May hit Plymouth, Dux or Nantasket Saturday as well.
Where's the launch in Plymouth?
With a forecast like this ill be out rain or shine!
Boston area, Nahant, Revere, Winthrop...Depends on where people are and how E or NE it is...and how big the waves are at nahant.
i'm thinking:
In a NE: Flat- Winthrop... Waves - Nahant
E or ENE Revere.
Winthrop sounds like a good time. Low tide @ 4ish.
I'll be out, not sure where, hopefully flat shallow water.
I'll be kiting the cape. Anyone down with that. Weather is starting to look dryer. Mabye I can blow the dust off my 7m on saturday.
Yo Shook....seems that the weather is coming from the south. So if you're looking to keep that dusty 7m dry your best bet would be north.
(Trying to recruit people to the N Shore)
I will be at Nahant - both days, looks like we're getting a weekend long Nor-easter, and I have NOOOOO plans - how often does THAT happen, wooohoooo! A perfect kiting day is head high surf riding the 7M Gypsy, bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the wind gets squirrely in there, maybe go to Duxbury, or attempt some insane Skyrocket downwinder plan...
So waves it is. Bring the wind! Dunoyer I wanna see it
Maybe a North Shore downwinder, Salisbury Beach to Ipswich, 10 miles of wave smackin' if the wind cooperates...
.SAT...E WINDS 20 TO 25 KT...BECOMING NE 25 TO 30 KT IN THE
AFTERNOON. SEAS 5 TO 8 FT. RAIN...MAINLY IN THE AFTERNOON.
How do you best go about avoiding the washing machine around the mouth of the Merrimack river, and then the bizarre-o currents that work along the beach on Plum Island....
Work way to the east(up-wind) off of Salisbury then head south once you have some distance off-shore?
I am assuming that you would want to pass to the offshore side of Green Can 3 that marks the southeastern end of the channel at the mouth.
Usually just hug the shore, currents are not that big a deal when you are planing.
I'm in on the downwinder. Surfboard needs a proper dusting off after a winter in the closet. Lets hope the forecast holds up
Shit, if chris is coming, I'm def gonna come get a piece of the antics.
Well I just learned to stay upwind so a downwinder should be a piece of cake. I will make sure to bring a Go-Joe and Kite-LOJACK but otherwise sounds like a sweet plan!
I cant wait I am so excited especially if we get a good turn out in waves. My plan is to go one kite too small and put that on shortened lines and take out a strapped surfboard or the King.
Funny I cant wait to see the waves and this is from a flatwater lover... BRING THE DAY!!!! See you there!
Due East, we need a good spot. Horseneck to Newport? A little crazy? Sunday looks EVIL!!!
Rhode Island Sound:
.SAT...E WINDS 25 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 KT. SEAS 6 TO
9 FT...BUILDING TO 8 TO 11 FT IN THE AFTERNOON. PATCHY FOG. RAIN.
VSBY 1 TO 3 NM.
Massachusetts Bay:
.SUN...NE WINDS 30 TO 35 KT...BECOMING 25 TO 35 KT IN THE
AFTERNOON. GUSTS UP TO 45 KT. SEAS 17 TO 22 FT...BUILDING TO
20 TO 24 FT IN THE AFTERNOON. RAIN. PATCHY FOG IN THE MORNING.
VSBY 1 TO 3 NM.
Damn I have to work tomorrow but I am in for Sunday.
The usual problem: Anyone doesn't want to hit the biggest waves and could give me a ride for tomorrow?
I'm living in watertown now, but I can go anywhere on the red line T (e.g. JFK) or to Revere/Wonderland T-station.

LETS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
Done and done. Im hooking up with Jean at 630 at his place and i think we have a downwinder set up. Gonna give my old waist harness a shot and hope the ribs hold up. Will come out to your place sometime next week to check out your harnesses bro. see u in the am!
I'm heading to the Cape in the AM. I need to hit a kite shop. If it's too crazy for kiting I'll windsurf, maybe the Cut, maybe Mayflower. Anyone else kiting on the Cape? Shook?

Folks,
I Can't believe that I'm missing all the good wind..
I should be out for 4-6 weeks after some snowboarding injury but you should see me back into action soon in full force..
In the mean time I'm hitting the fitness center and swimming to maintain the strength for kiting..
Enjoy the wind and I'll see you soon at the beach
Thanks for the invite this weekend for those who called and left some voicemails
Good luck recovering! Your screams are missed at the beach
