South Beach State Park M.V.
Hey all,
I'm heading to M.V. in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone has kited out of South Beach State Park ( http://goo.gl/maps/178u ). I'll only be a mile from it. Looks good for W, S, and E winds.
Cheers,
Josh
yeah it's the shit. You need to go a fair distance down the sand path, east of South Beach. Good idea to fork out the dough for an oversand permit for the day if your vehicle can handle it.

Otherwise you can park at the boat ramp and wade across, end of Town Lot Road.
You've got lagoon on one side, ocean on the other, so all wind directions work. See for yourself:

I kite there all the time. Jean pretty much gave you the scoop. Norton Point is where you can kite in the South Beach area. They probably won't allow it at South Beach. But when you go to SB, stay on the left fork. Just before the road hits the dune, on the left there is an oversand road (permits required). Take that abouve 1 mile east... or as Jean said, park at, then walk across from, the boat launch (shallow waters) located on Edgartown Bay Road.
Or State Beach for an East wind. (between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown).
Or my favorite, Cape Poge... requires permits also. but great for any wind and ton's of open water.
I am there most every weekend. Call me if you want to try to hook up. 617 797 1513.

Awesome, thanks for the info.
If it's blowing, Jen, I'll let you know when I'm heading out!
