Tug Hill Snow Kite Rally 2012
Masskiting is returning for the fourth straight year. It keeps getting better. For 2012, we have been called upon to participate in the planning so you know the party will be off the hook. With the usual strong winds and big snow, and it should be a weekend to remember.
For details on the event visit:
To get a feel for what's in store, watch the movie from last year.

It's a five hour drive, so you will want to make a weekend of it. I have rented a big house and it is almost full. Send me a PM if you want one of the last few spaces. Otherwise visit:

Nice Jean! Thanks for posting and organizing the house! I'm definitely in for my 3rd year in a row. I don't like snow kiting. But the one time a year I'll go out is Tug Hill cause of the great conditions. I'm gonna make a Facebook page later today. We have Jellyfish kite snowboards doing demos. Eric already got Epic involved, more sponsors to follow! MLK weekend, mark your calendars!
The White Elephant rides again with the usual mafia members....
Been waiting for this!!! Im totally in!
JD, Jean, Eric and I have been working on getting the word out for the Tug Hill Snowkite Rally.
We've made a website for it which at least will be able to provide more information than past years.

Also, friend out FB page even if you aren't going, help us spread the stoke!

If you want to help us to get the word out, let us know! We could use more help!!
This is going to be off the hook compared to previous years! Very stoked to find out Naish is confirmed for the event and makes a great addition to the list of companies joining us. I dont think I have ever been this excited for snowkiting....
Anyone have any suggestions for finding an open room/bed/couch for Tugg Hill 2012?
Have liquor will travel,
Christian
dude! how are you?!? how's the new fam?
we have a house that is filled to the gills, but I'll let Jean chime in on if there is any space. i'm 95% sure we're having the party at the Ridge View Inn http://theridgeviewinn.com/ which is next to the Ridge View Lodge http://ridge-view.com/ May be a good alternative, walking distance to the bar.
You coming solo or bringing a crew? It'd be great to hang out.
Hey Jermy,
How did you guys find your house rentals? Is there a website and specific area we should be looking for? I see your recommending the ridge view in for a hotel. Did you guys confirm you'll be having the party there yet?
Thanks, Jeff
Hey Jeff,
We got the info from the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce. I looked a bunch of it over, and put them on this map: http://tughillsnowkiting.com/Tug-Hill-NY-Snowkite-maps
We are at the Tug Hill Sports Lodge. The party will be at the Ridge View Inn. Best option I've seen and they are excited to have us. Staying in Lowville would be close to the party, and not far from the sites... however Watertown would be the closest to the Base Camp. You can always call up the Chamber of Commerce if you have any questions... ask for Donna, 315-376-2213.
If you end up getting a house and need some people to fill it, post on here or the Tug site and I'm sure you can find some bodies.
Any other questions, let us know!
Jermy - Family is good, got a room for Tugg Hill so now all that's left is a hot wax of my snowboard and plan the trip.
Can't wait to catch up and ride with you guys there!
Christian
sweeet dude! this is great news!! a bunch of us are heading up on Friday, see you there!
I am driving up to Tug Hill on FRI after work (around 4ish) from Cambridge if anyone needs a ride UP. (Coming back on Sun evening)
I have two spaces in the back of my Jeep and room for your gear on top.
I am staying at The Roz (Only $39 night with bfast per person and the owner just told me they still have a room available if anyone is looking)
I'm staying at the Roz too, but only on Saturday night (I was pushing my luck with my wife with 1 day away...but two...dangerous!)
I was gonna wake up stupid early on Saturday and drive to whatever site is in use. Then sometime before the party go and drop my stuff off/check in etc.
I'm def interested. Call me 860 490 1981. Thanks dan
Nospeakenglish call me. Dan 860 490 1981
I made an online registration form and we're giving people who pre-register an extra raffle ticket. score!
I just need some guinea pigs to make sure this works. so if you're coming, sign up!
http://tughillsnowkiting.com/node/add/tug-hill-registration
thanks!
I apologize, but you can only register with the whole form if you log on to the site.
Not sure if I am seeing the whole form. So to complete the registration all we have to do is be logged in, then click the save button at the bottom of the form? is that it? I see no info to fill out.
Jermy-
Are we able to complete the form online or do we have to make a copy and bring it with us??
Thanks...
For some reason it doesn't seem to be working correctly for me.
Try again its fixed
http://tughillsnowkiting.com/node/add/tug-hill-registration
Or I think I fixed it
I got it to work...thanks JD
Done. NOW working for me too.
great news!!
BUT, just in case, if anyone has a landboard that they could bring, or has one they could let someone borrow, that'd cover our bases. you know... bring a raincoat to make sure it doesn't rain
also... Google Latitude app: Anyone who went to Hatt last year prolly have this installed. but this is a good app to see where everyone else is on your trip... I'll have mine on the whole weekend. Everyone should download it and use it. the more people logged on, the better it is. I think it's by emsil... mine is j.reger@gmail so add me!
I have a landboard and I'll bring it along...i assume no liability of that knee smashing piece of SHIT!!
latitude: petecat13 at gmail.com
I have a landboard and a snowdeck (for those non-windy or post-ride days). I'm still trying to figure out if I can swing this trip with my school schedule but if I can't you guys are more than welcome to take my toys with you.
I also assume no liability for broken necks, legs, arms, noses, egos or any other parts we don't mention in polite company.
Regardless whether I go or not if someone is near Brighton or Cambridge I'll give directions/meet you and you can just come pick up the stuff.
The call has been made... we are switching the Main Base Camp to the new fly zone... "The TUNNEL," Porter & Yancey Roads. Park on Beetle or Yancey road, in West Lowville. Take a look at our maps page on the Tug Hill Rally site (or look at the downloadable map) for exact info.

Guys,
I want to take the van up tomorrow mid day. I really need to be at work for the am and then have to pick up the van an then leave from Wesboro. I expect to return Sunday. Is there anyone that would like to ride up with Gorette and I to make the long ride more enjoyable?
Not sure who will still be local...
Well...since you mentioned Gorette...I'm totally in!! Now I just have to break the news to Jean, Haley and Amy that I'm not driving...LOL...JK
Uconn
Just got a phone call from Jan, it's been snowing up on the plateau for a few hours. They expect to get a foot of snow. Yes!!

The house I have rented is now full. I can put you on the wait list or someone can step up and rent another one...
