Waquoit Update
Its 4th of July w/end and worth reminding all the resident and itinerant kooks
at WBay that the "rules" as outlined in the Beaches section are particularly important to follow at this juncture. Families will be out in force there this weekend. Please do not launch from first parking lot unless you are fully confident with your launch and can stay away from the other beachgoers, its better to launch farther upwind past the second parking lot after crossing over the creek at entrane to Sage Lot Pond, that way you have plenty of shallow water and open space downwind of you. Please don't cross the marked channels unless you are advanced and don't jump or linger in channels. Respect the rights of all other baygoers and give them right of way. In case you didn't see the signs, the gate to Wills Work Rd is now closed and locked promptly at 8pm! See you down there.
Hey Rob,
Its been too long. Hope to see the crew down there at some point this weekend. Heading there Sunday. Give me a shout if your doing the same.

Thanks for the update! Hoping to get down there early on Sunday morning.
Right on Rob. The marsh south of the 2cnd beach and the beach grass is protected as well.
so what happens if you ride till sunset then enjoy a beer, you have to bivouac?
Is that a haiku?
Thanks for the post Robert! Reminders are good. Have fun everyone if you are at Wacky Bay! It's been forever since I've been there. Too long.
All kidding aside, I am trying to understand the dynamics of closing a gate when people are still enjoying the beach at sunset.
Can we send the thugs to kneecap the idiots who ruined a good thing?
At least we may see fewer rusty nails and broken bottles everywhere. I wish we could do an event there. GNAR Rules. Everyone show up at 5am fill the parking lot with nothing but mass kiters, and break out the grills and make breakfast. My best motivation starting out was seeing Jhonny D and Jermy throw down at the bay, and being able to ask some questions and just hang out with experienced riders. It makes a big impact on new riders.
I don't know if you know this masshole, but I was driving my boat in the channel on july 4th and this crazy kiteboarder on a surfboard of all things cut right in front of my boat and jumped right in the air, then cut back and did it again! I think he was flying something called an obsession. If you see this guy again, remind him of the "rules" you just posted. Funny, he looks alot like the guy in your picture. I think he may have a deathwish. Next time I'm gunning it and letting my prop make clamfood out of him.
Harumphhh!
