I damaged my board ramming a coral head. The gouge is about 1/3" wide 1/3" deep and 3" long. It is a custom built board and would need epoxy/fiberglass to fix. Is there anyone local that does this kind of work? I don't have the skill nor the means to deal with this myself.

From Lee the builder, this is what I need to have done: "It looks like the fiberglass is damaged all the way through, so you should at least seal it up. Even if you don't seal it, the foam won't suck water, so it's not really a big problem. If you want to do a proper repair, you should grind away all the broken bits of glass and foam, then put in a few layers of fiberglass cloth with epoxy, sand it when it's hard, then put on a layer of resin to fill in the pin holes. After you sand that smooth, you can spray on some paint with a spray can, and maybe put a sticker over it to hide the repair."

Board repair

I also had a problem with damaging my board. I damaged the corner which made it harder to repair. I bought a repair kit for like $20 sanded down the area and went to work, worked fine! Being the corner it was harder to fix, but looks like the area of the board that you have damaged would be no problem. Let me know if you have any other questions send me a PM.
