Cape Upwinder/Downwinder

Cruised upwind from Hardings along Monomoy Island, SSW wind, about 3 or 4 miles I'd guess. Lots of shallows with small chop, little grassy islands, sandbars. We got to a place where the little outer bar meets the island, took about 2 hours of edging hard for me and the Skipper. There were a couple of boats with kiters, lessons I think. We were so far out that we could barely see the tiny kites flying back at Hardings. We were psyched to be out there, so beautiful! Then the wind started to get flukey. We raced back just before it died completely, got lucky this time.

I did some further exploring around Monomoy in the afternoon and ended with a bike ride from the lighthouse to Hardings. Great Day!
