Great Wind Wing
Kudos to you guys. I took a couple of tacks on the seven and decided it wasn't for me.
Fred thanks for watching my back - first time flying that 8m North kite for me and I set the cleat placement too high my first run out, so the kite angle was too depowered when it was low in the window. The wind was a freaking powerhouse. I'm happpy to say that I did have the kite under control the whole time (though at times just barely) - but wasn't having fun ripping it like you were on your 5m! Stoke I'm glad you got out on the 5, your 9 would have flown you to Nova Scotia. Brad & Jean, what's that quote about discretion vs. valor? Let's hit it again and hope for sub-gale-force winds next time!
You asked about the 7/4 hood earlier... Yeah I can move my head around easily, it's not attached or tucked into my suit. the one thing that's taking some getting used to is having your ears sealed up. When you go for a dunk, water gets trapped in there and you have to reach in with your hand to get it to drain. i'm experimenting with poking holes in it, my first attempt with a paper clip didn't cut it. i either need to add more holes or make them bigger. it's so easy to obsess over gear.
What a powerhouse session it was, nice pix Freddy, I luv it!!
