Horseneck- Side Off Wave Session
I wasn't kiting but I took some pics of Horseneck side to side off wave session- scooper
Timmy's report-Great Session
Ron and I arrived around 7am, Jean and Chris were already rigged on their big kites when we arrived. Wind was all over the place, started out light but then climbed very fast into the mid-high 20s. Very gusty WNW (slight off shore). High tide was kind of sloppy - survival kiting (for me at least). When low tide came, the waves got more organized and very glassy since the wind was slight off shore. Wind seemd to turn more West too which made it a little less gusty. Decent sized swell...probably 5-6 ft or so at times. Sun eventually came out and the temps were perfect. I rode my 12 M most of the day...over & underpowered powered at times. All and all it was a great day!
holy weashing machine!
nice photos, glad you guys scored an early session! looks like much bigger waves than we had on the Cape.
Scooper, you really captured the feel of this amazing day. I love the way you stacked it with the telephoto lens. One of those shots looks like I'm about to get swallowed by a 10 footer!
The way our sport can be: Adam Lefevre called to tell me these were as good as wave conditions get in New England. Many other riders couldn't deal and just bailed. I was in the middle. Found the conditions difficult, at times frustrating, and for a few fleeting moments, euphoric. Just felt good to be out and looking for those perfect wave rides. The big lesson, ride farther downwind next time.
Well I guess I was too busy tearing my 9m in-half on the cape.. OMG that looks like a blast!!!
CHaley takes the gold for the day. Most time on the water, in the water, and in the air. Thanks for the pics Scooper!
Crap!... I wanted to be MVP
nice spot, I'm looking forward to riding here after work hopefully
