I cracked my old surfboard a few weeks ago, and have decided to test my hand at repairing her. The damage is pretty extensive. If anyone has any tips, feel free to shout em out. I will post the progress of it as it comes available.

OK Ive learned a lot with out

OK Ive learned a lot with out any collateral damage.

1: Poly Fiberglass resin eats Styrofoam.
1a. If you are using a styrofoam core, you need to have EPOXY resin. ( West Systems 105 resin and 203 slow hard.)

2. Bondo Melts styrofoam and is heavy as hell. ( Use epoxy 105 + micro bubbles as a filler)

Oh BOY! this is fun and expensive.

If anyone has an old busted board they want to get rid of. please let me know. I need to practice my repair skills.

First Layer Of thickened

First Layer Of thickened epoxy resin is on and hardened. This filled a lot of the holes in the styrofoam, and smoothed my working area considerably. Second Coat is going over it after sanding. It will be a thicker mix for the next coat. So far the weight of the epoxy resin is not noticeable. Total weight of the epoxy used so far was about 200g, ( about 7oz,) spread out over a large area.
