Pleasure Bay Delight
What an afternoon! A number of people about 27+ kites were out on the Boston Pond lastnight. I always hate arriving... Hands shaking, late, and anxious. Trying to get my car parked and throwing a fit. Then you have to get out get changed and figure out what gear to grab. But then walking toward the launch things get a bit better... I see kites I know Southie, T, Neto, Hujol, Hambone, Kristof, Kirk, Mike and others.. Knowing their kites helps me to know I made the right choices and soon I am at the launch. I say hello to a few people and begin pumping and not long after Neto has my kite and I am off to the water. From the first tug out and a weave to get around the TD Zone I am wisked across the bay. There is a funny thing though as you pass your friends on the water for the first time and the excitement to know we all made it AGAIN to a summers evening session. It took 10 minutes before I had my kite inverted and flipped inside out. Figures whatever go big or go home.. I rode the rest of the day like that and through down hard. The sunset was crazy, the skyline unimaginable, and the cranes off in the distance gleamed with that last rays of sun. It was perfect and I have to thank Mike for grabbing my board after a big tossing. I fought my kite for awhile and my board was way gone. I got the kite up and right as I was about to look Mike screaming full speed out of no where just drops it in front of my face. Nice to have a great crew and good friends makes the hole day even more enjoyable. The pond is tight and there are allot of riders. But somehow with that much talent they all manage to not bitch and use goodwill and skill to make it all the same. Im sure it better empty and a few of us who sun downed the place got that but overall hats off to the Boston Crew you non-entitled off capers that seem to be the best talent I see in New England period!
