Private marsh session WD
Dude! Talk about low tide. Today was crazy low but that picture of WD pond is unreal! I have never seen so much beach there!
What kite were you flying?
Get that Noise in the waves and make some lip smacking Noise!LOL
The Noise really looks like the old SS REV, one of my fav kites and the kite that Ben Wilson rode for years while a SS Rep.
It is a clone of the rev, my buddy Ian has the 12m. Not a bad kite but also didn't impress me too much. They eliminated the pully and replaced it with a metal ring that already chewed through the bridle without even a half season on it. The best wave kites are the Wainman 10.5 and under sizes on single line connections, in my opinion....
it's nice getting rid of the bridal, but what are you compromising? heavier bar pressure? less depower?
you talking about the bridal or pulley?
Bridle. With the Wainmans, they ship with an extra set of lines and separate attachment points to rig it direct - no bridle. I switched it to direct when my bridal wore out. That seems to be how the pro riders like to roll, I assume it delivers better kite response at the expense of bar pressure and depower but I was looking for confirmation on that. Chooch?
The only difference I notice is it has less power when you are doing hard kiteloops. It gives it more float and higher jumping, as well as more direct, consistant power when turning doing wave riding. I though the depower range was compromised but it eats up the gusts better with the direct line setup. The bar pressure feels lighter as well.
Interesting... Thought read somewhere that should use direct attach if over a certain weight. Not sure if can find where read that again
confusing which way does what?
not that I'm aware of, its so you can adjust the kite for your individual riding style, not for different weight. I'll let you ty it out at tug hill on the single lines...
Googled and guess where I came back to.. Here! Thanks MK and Cooch for input.
"Been riding single line on the kites for the last 2.5 years, can't go back to the bridles after riding the single line. Also knot that the single line has a weight limit, bigger guys (200 lbs+) put more stress on the leading edge, causing it to fly a bit off when on single line. So if your a bigger rider I suggest sticking with the bridle. "

I shot some pictures of Chris before I got my almost private session at WD. His jumps were pretty impressive!!
