I was remembering this day with Johnny D last night. It was blowing in the 30's, it was the last time I ever windsurfed. It was freaking cold, the waves outside were enormous, we almost lost Kirk.

I remember that day also.
I remember that day also. Just I was rigging I saw someones (kirks?) kite take off from the beach into the dunes. I didn't really know you guys yet and thought ..who are these kooks! I missed the drama of Kirks downwinder as I went upwind to the north side of the break. A year or two later I did the same downwind swim with a torn up kite and though i might lose myself. There is a video of it somewhere on qik. it was when i fist got a smartphone a streamed the whole thing live on the internet..real smart!..what was that about kooks!

the vid gets interesting around 17 min in Now with the sharks down there it would be much more tense.

That was a sick day.
I remember the need to rig bigger. There was way less wind in the troughs because the waves were so big.
Yeah, we are the kooks everyone's been talking about!
I think the sharks were there then too, we just weren't aware of it.
I had written up a session report on MASSkiting 1.0 and it got lost when we changed the site over. So I pulled these pictures out of my iPhoto.
