I made it to Mayflower by 9:30am to check the conditions and the wind was kicking. About 25 degrees out but beautiful sunshine and winds averaging around 24 knots and very consistent coming from the NW. I rigged my 11.5 Kahoona and got ready to embrace the cold. I got two solid sessions in one from about 10:30 to to 12:30 and then back out from about 1:30 to 3. I was nicely powered up with no depower. Mayflower delivered as usual, I got there as the tide was headed out so I had a long walk out to the water which was half the fun. There was a 3 1/2 foot high snow bank at the high tide mark to jump over, then about 10 yards of snow covered beach. After that there was the typical tidal pools which were actually slush pools. Finally once I got to the water the first 10 feet or so was ocean slush. Very cool to kite in! the spray of slush almost ice coming off the back of my board was unreal to see. Once off the beach there was some great shore break and then some good 4-5 foot rollers to play around in. On shore wind made for great long tacks. I kept it pretty tame since I was by myself but it would have been perfect wind for a down-winder to Corporation.

Overall a very cool session in some ridiculous winter conditions that made Mayflower look like the North Pole.

I haven't pushed it that

I haven't pushed it that extreme, but your report is making me consider it! All the more courageous that you were ALONE! Sunday morning, all the Masskiters were hung over, or searching for their towed automobiles....

Love the Pics!

Get any icing on lines or bar? I've been out in the upper 20's, not mid 20's. I thought that at some temp ice might start to interfere or make equip slippery. It's good to know it worked for you!

It was amazing. Not to much

It was amazing. Not to much icing on my lines. Some on the De-power system on the best bar. My kite never hit the water so the only part of my lines that got wet were the bar and De-power when I got hit by a wave or two. But the movement of the bar breaks the ice and kept everything working well.
