The Kiteboat - Jesus Walks
I need to figure out how to do these tricks.. got the backroll kiteloop last time said this soooo Hatteras watch out. Jesus is coming
Looks sweet! I haven't seen anyone do anything like that around here!
very cool video, gave me an idea for the near future. thanks Sam
Actually doesn't seem that hard if you can do the backroll kiteloop. Maybe even easier as you don't have to rotate.
Hand-drag board-off backroll kiteloop transition?
Cheat the kite back slow till it starts to pull back then loop for lift.
Is the hand drag done the same way as Jesus walk? You loop the kite without getting air first?
Are they looping the kite while walking on water?
they initiate the loop when they are finishing the walk and starting to put the board on. it's a matter of getting the timing right, but slowly bring it from 11 to 1 as you walk, then looping gives you that little lift so you have an extra sec to get the board on.
edit:
that was a response to Jean... I can't post it under his comment for some reason.
okay I have to watch this a fourth time apparently with what you said in mind so I can visualize doing it on the water
so essentially a small lift from the kite to jesus walk to loop transition? ut oh...I am gonna hurt myself tomorrow trying this...

I went back and watched the video of some backroll kiteloops from the other day and compared. It's almost the same.
I cheat the kite back to near the top of the window, release the edge and plant the drag hand to start the backroll, once i feel the kite around 3 or 4 o'clock, I pull in quick the the back hand and bring the kite around fast (this whips you out of the roll and lifts you off the water).
I assume this is the same. Cheat and prep. Release edge and grab board off. Yank hard when you feel the kite around 3/4 and let the loop pull you up to get the board back on.
2 things. First jermy is right those guys are sick and I want to try that in hatteras. Two I probably shouldn't have watched that while driving 80mph on the pike.
2 things...
that's the best video I've seen on that, so now I think I know exactly what to do
and I love the unhooked dive into the water at the end!
