See video

I was checking out Whitehall to see if looked good for snowkiting. I have never been snowkiting (but I just learned how to kite this year & have been skiing for a long time) but I am fired up to go with some people who want to poach this powder! 617-240-0945 call me if the wind picks up!

Snowkiting Hopkinton and Westborough MA

I live around the corner. Lake Chauncey too in Westborough. Or Tufts fields depending on wind direction as they are on a Valley slope (Summer Landboarding)

To bad I work long hours Smile

is that a lot on the SE side or a beach?

thanks!

This is

this lake is about 5 minutes from my work and I've never kited/Snowkited there since the wind is gusty most of the time. I guess we could try out and see.

If your folks decided to hit this placed please keep us posted since I may swing by.

there is a lot parking space if you park near R135 not many folks use that boat ramp even in the summer!

Whitehall Lake/Reservoir THIS WEDNESDAY!

There is a parking lot (used as a boat launch in the summer) on the north side of the lake on RT 135 (also called Wood st). Its on the corner of Dale Rd & Wood St. Google map it and zoom in and you can see it clearly. Forecast for Wed currently is 15-25mph winds & 12-18 " OF SNOW. Hopefully snow and not freezing rain. I am going!!! Pray for snow!

give me a call and meet up & I can give you more info 617-240-0945.

look fwd to it!

On the map it looks bigger

On the map it looks bigger than Indian Lake and Lake Q. We gotta try it and see how it is!

I'm wondering about parking. The 2 spots listed on map seem to be in coves on the north side. I would think best wind would be launching from W side in NW or W wind. Are there other parking areas? If we happened to get a SW wind in Winter those 2 spots would probably be nice. Also, if the land around those parking areas is flat enough it could be fine in NW.

I'm looking for the holy grail of snow kiting- steady wind.

Parking/Launching

I will see if there is anywhere to launch from on the W side. Its mostly homes on that side, so it could be tricky. However, it is not that far a walk from the N lot I mentioned to the middle of the lake. I think once out on the lake there is enough room between the land/trees and you to not get turbulence from wind going over trees, etc. I am fired up to go Wed!

hope to connect with the Mass kiting crew then!
