@ Flo: Kalmus can def be very

@ Flo: Kalmus can def be very choppy esp high-tide, multi-day wind event, and during peak-boating season.  There are some nice and less choppy areas if you don't mind risking kiting away from the main beach.  That sand-bar is across the boat channel at tip of Great Island.  Usually best accessible with a support boat, though again you can risk kiting across the channel and head over there -- just don't break down Smile  Also, that sand-bar isn't as good, imho, as it was back in '07.  The longshore transport seems to get worse every year, depositing large amounts of enough sand and sediment at the tip of the island, which alters the area.  I didn't find it as smooth last year as years past, although you never know what new changes occurred there this winter.

@ Jean:  Are you still flying that red 9m?!  If so, that'd be an amazing testament to the build quality and endurance.  I loved that kite, and while I did take care of it, it some saw good crashes (that also hurt me) when I was learning to loop, plus you must have put lots of sessions on it by now!

Yes, the red rocket is still

Yes, the red rocket is still flying, albeit with some sail tape.  I let the Horseneck washing machine take it one day and you know how that goes...  I'm not the rider type who updates his gear very often, but I do enjoy the 2010 Wainman Gypsy I got for Christmas a year ago. I use the red a lot less now because there is a lot of overlap with the 7.  Recently, I unintentionally released the kite out on Indian Lake, it flew quite a distance and into the trees.  When I retrieved it, it was amongst thorns 1/2 an inch long and no puncture, that kite has some karma!

That was when I went from a Cab Co2 to my first 07 Warroo White from Bob Conn. I was talking to Stevo and Bob on the beach one day saying I wanted one. Righ then as we spoke my Cab just popped their next to us on the beach. Stevo looked at me and said... "Looks like your ready for one!"

Those were great days.. Whilly Whit was about and Goldfish too!

I remember that day, terrific session.  I'm the skeletor Smile with the red JL 130 Model III, miss that board!  Kirk was filming I think.  And yea most of us we were on 07 Waroos then, good observation.
