Bit of a redundant title. You can't really handle pass without unhooking.

Is there any tips for going unhooked. I feel like I'm missing something because I'm always muscling a full powered up kite. Or is this just a fact of unhooked life?

1) Trim your kite to the point where you only feel just enough power when the bar is pulled all the way towards you/the chicken loop.

2) Bear off downwind when unhooking and hooking back in. If you edge at all the bar will be pulled away from your body and you will probably lean back against it. This will make you have the worst form (see: http://masskiting.com/kiteboarding-forum/same-kiter-who-yelled-kids-hatt...) and not allow you to pop off the water.

3)Try and keep your hands low and near your body when riding unhooked. When you load/pop the bar will naturally get pulled up and away, and that is normal, but you must start with the bar low and in.
